Time to Gear Up!

My writing productivity has hit a major decline since I started working my new full-time job--if not for the abundance of drafting I did during my months of unemployment, I'd be incredibly behind.

But, as you may know from the guest post I did on Jeff Hargett's blog, "I don't have time" is not a valid excuse. At least, not in my book. And while I have been (slowly) working on edits for two MSs, I haven't actually drafted anything since February. I am determined to see that change!

I have a five-day vacation--glorious vacation--next week, and I intend to use that break to re-enter drafting mode and begin THE GLASS MAGICIAN. I'm especially hoping that my excitement for this book (and it's romantic-tension-packed goodness) will further inspire me to write after long days of creativity-thwarting technical editing. Stay tuned.

Side note: I've also determined to limit my Arrested Development escapades and make more time for reading. Woohoo!

  3. Proud of you for getting yourself back into drafting mode! It's tough. As you know, I haven't been able to do it for years. ;-)

  4. Hi Charlie! Thank you for visiting my blog. Perhaps I should tell you that opinions are divided about whether treading on a cockroach spreads their eggs or not. I prefer to err on the side of caution and wash my shoe after stomping.
As for your writing hiatus - once you sit down the ideas that have been backing up will pour out!

  5. The Glass Magician is a most intriguing title. May all your drafts be prose and not from windows. :-) But yeah, full-time jobs have a way of sucking up free time like super-massive black holes.
